The Care Process at ADHD 911

Initial assessment and 1st session FREE: We meet with the child and family to understand their specific challenges, strengths, and goals and provide you with your first week's assignment. We make sure you will leave with at least 1 tool that will make a big difference.

Goal setting: The coach and child work together to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. Goals are typically broken down into small, manageable steps to build momentum.

Strategy development: Based on the child's needs and learning style, the coach introduces personalized strategies and tools to address their challenges. For example, they may use color-coded folders for organization or planners for time management.

Ongoing sessions: Through regular sessions, the coach provides accountability, support, and feedback. They monitor the child's progress, celebrate small successes, and adjust strategies as needed. (Sessions 3 & 4). Students will require a 4 week involvement initially to make any significant changes. If they are unable to attend a month program, we offer weekly Zoom Clubs as an option. Once the program has been established, students will meet with us one on one or in a group setting one time per week, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on need and budget.

Parental involvement: We may also work with parents to equip them with strategies that support their child's development at home. This can involve training parents on effective communication, routines, and managing behaviors. This is usually a critical step for success and we like to involve siblings and other family members who have concern at the same time to make everyone is on the same page. We like to meet with parents one time per month to discuss the sessions and how they have been working.

Key Skills & Strategies taught to your children

ADHD coaching addresses executive functions, which are the mental skills needed to get things done, and other practical life skills. An ADHD Practitioner helps a child develop skills by:

Improving organization: Creating personalized systems for organizing schoolwork, belongings, and digital documents to reduce feelings of being overwhelmed.

Managing time: Teaching techniques like the Pomodoro method (focused work with breaks) to help children estimate time and meet deadlines.

Boosting focus: Offering strategies such as creating a distraction-free study environment or using fidget tools to help channel energy.

Enhancing emotional regulation: Providing techniques like mindfulness and breathing exercises to help children manage frustration, impulsivity, and anxiety.

Encouraging self-advocacy: Helping the child understand their ADHD and teaching them how to confidently communicate their needs to teachers and peers.

Building motivation: Providing external motivation and celebrating progress to help the child find intrinsic motivation to complete tasks.
